Charterers’ Liability

When chartering a vessel, a Charterer is exposed to particular liabilities.

These liabilities can involve substantial amounts and can include liability for Damage to Hull (‘DTH’), Liability for Damage to Cargo (‘DTC’) and/or Liability for other Marine Risks (eg. Personal Injury, Property Damage, Wreck Removal, Pollution, Fines, et cetera).

We provide our clients with tailor-made coverage for their Charterers’ Liability risks, including optional coverage for Defence (‘FDD’), Bunkers and/or Cargo Owners’ Legal Liability (‘COLL’).

Logistics Operator Liability

There are many entities that arrange transport and logistics, as well as manage and provide advice on transportation and transport-related services, for shippers, freight carriers and other entities.

Such Third Party Logistics Providers (“3PL’s”) include amongst others freight forwarders, multimodal transport operators, NVOCC’s and warehouse operators.

We provide our clients with tailor-made cover for the legal liabilities arising out of the conduct of their business (such as liability for loss or damage to cargo, third party liabilities, errors and omissions, fines and penalties and legal costs and defence expenses) and for their equipment.
